This month saw uncertain times as the Coronavirus pandemic impacts on our lives and businesses. Again this month we saw an expected fall in scrap car prices, though it was more of a dramatic drop than the one seen in March. Scrap car prices in April were down 11% compared to the prices last month, though some good news is that prices were 24% higher than those seen this time last year!
The CarTakeBack Customer Services Team are continuing to safely making arrangements for you to scrap your car. Scrap car collections are continuing, following the guidance on social distancing and hygiene. Collections will only be carried out when it is safe to do so, for both our staff and for you.
If you want to get that old car and get some money for it, it’s still a good time to do it. Especially as we guarantee your scrap car quote for 7 days, meaning any further drop in that time won’t affect you! Find out how much your car is worth instantly >
About the CarTakeBack Scrap Car Price Index
The CarTakeBack Scrap Car Price Index is updated monthly using the prices on offer for scrap cars at CarTakeBack recycling centres throughout Australia. It is intended to give an indication of the movement in the price from one month to another, with the prices being shown as a percentage. Cars come in all shapes and sizes which has an effect on their scrap value, so prices have been adjusted to show what the average car would be worth.
