After a steady decline in the last few months, the average price paid for a scrap car is back on top in February! Surpassing prices on offer in 2021, this month saw a new high as the average price paid for a scrap car tipped over $550, the highest average rate seen with CarTakeBack.
Prices for scrap cars are up 7% month on month and also up by 34% compared to February 2021. We predict that prices will maintain above $500 into March, though as always with scrap metal valuations, they can change rapidly.
The value of scrap cars is dependent on various factors, including the global demand for scrap metal, any reusable parts, as well as the make, model, age, weight, condition and even the location of your car.
