The Coronavirus pandemic is still having an impact on our day to day lives and our businesses, with restrictions again being enforced in some of our cities. April and May saw low prices being paid for scrap cars, in the months since we’ve seen things steadily recover. We’re happy to report that in July scrap car prices have not only reached pre-lockdown levels, they’re the best we’ve seen this year!
Scrap car prices climbed 8% higher than those in June, plus this month’s prices were 26% higher than those on offer at this time last year!
The CarTakeBack Customer Services Team continue to safely make arrangements for you to sell your scrap car. You can take advantage of our free scrap car collection, our collectors are following guidance on social distancing and hygiene. Collections will only be carried out when it is safe to do so, for both our staff and for you.
About the CarTakeBack Scrap Car Price Index
The CarTakeBack Scrap Car Price Index is updated monthly using the prices on offer for scrap cars at CarTakeBack recycling centres throughout Australia. It is intended to give an indication of the movement in the price from one month to another, with the prices being shown as a percentage. Cars come in all shapes and sizes which has an effect on their scrap value, so prices have been adjusted to show what the average car would be worth.
